The Ariana eBook Cover Art Awards Competition is now closed to entries.
EPIC is proud to present the ARIANA eBook Cover Art AwardsTM, recognizing the best in eBook covers.
Judging is influenced by the appropriateness of artwork to genre, the artist(s) attention to detail (including style and/or method), and the effectiveness of presentation, that is, whether the book's title, author’s name, publisher logo/information, etc. clearly viewed.
Finalists will be posted on EPIC’s website (www.epicorg.com) and the ARIANATM will be presented at EPIC’s Awards Banquet at EPIConTM.
Eligibility and Rules
1. Entries will be accepted from 12:01 AM Central Daylight Time (Central Time Zone, U.S.) June 1, 2012 through 11:59 PM on July 15, 2012.
2. Cover art must be original and appear on an e-book published within the eligibility period of June 1, 2011 through May 31, 2012.
3. As the entrant is assumed to be the owner(s) of the artwork, entries must be entered by the cover artist. If the artwork is the result of collaboration, either artist may enter the artwork. Submissions may be entered by publishers only when the artist is unable to enter for him/herself.
4. There is no limit to the number of cover art pieces entered by a single entrant. However, no cover art may be entered in more than one category.
5. No change of category will be allowed due to entrant error and there will be no refunds.
6. EPIC grants unlimited permission for all winners to use the Ariana logo, available upon request from This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This permission extends to publishers, authors, and websites containing or representing winning covers.
7. Files must be in JPG /JPEG format, 200 x 300 pixels.
8. The file name should reflect category letter (which can be found below, in the category section) and the title of entered work.
- Example: Sue Smith is entering cover art for the book Got a Life in the Children's/Young Adult Category (A). She must name her file A-gotalife.jpg.
9. The entry fee is $10.00 per cover and payments will be made electronically as part of the entry procedure.
Disqualification
Entries will be disqualified for violating any rule. Deliberate omissions may result in ban of entry for any EPIC competition.
Categories
Entries, including graphic novels, should be placed in the category best represented by the cover art, not the category best represented by the content of the published eBook. For instance, the cover of a fantasy romance novel may be better placed in the Fantasy/Paranormal category (E), than in Romance (B).
In the interests of continuing to uphold the highest standards of excellence in electronic cover art, EPIC and EPIC's Competition Committee retain the right to dissolve any category if a minimum of three (3) entries are not entered.
